I think we have a manifesto problem in TTRPGs. Not that people are writing them, but that people are taking them as more than personal statements of style and ideals.

Yes, AW does not use NUMBERS to simulate physical reality, it uses intuition and common sense.

I remember running AW for a friend who had only experienced a narrow, very different space of PbtA and they were surprised at the amount to which gear and specificity of Moves mattered.

I've seen some people online point to PbtA as freeform + 2d6 which is... uh... not accurate.
