A piece of sea worn pottery, white with a blue transfer print of an arched structure, lies on dark sand. A pale seafoam and clear seaglass lie bearby

A very old-fashioned hexagon stitched grey football (soccer) lying slumped on small pebbles which stretch to a blue sea and low row of houses in the distance

An irregular shaped piece of plain sea pottery lying on fine gravel, a bit of sea weed rests on top The same piece flipped over to reveal a blue transfer pattern- a wheel and possibly a leg is just visible

#FridayFlip ! I see a wheel and a leg but I have never found the whole pattern - bicycle, wheelbarrow, hand cart? #beachcombing #SeaPottery

As of tonight, licenses of trans people across Kansas are being invalidated en masse, enabling the overnight criminalization of an entire group of people for going about our lives. It’s often said you never know when you’re living through history, so let me assure you: that’s what’s happening now.

Resting in rocks, a small grey pebble with white crystal inclusions that seem to spell out the letters N O

A round orange plastic smarties tube lid, sticking out of a pile of glossy brown and green seaweed. Finger and thumb holding up the plastic lid to show a letter J on the reverse

#WednesdayWin can’t beat a (non-fake) smartie lid! As it is smaller sized but capital letter it’s probably mid 60s to mid 70s - older than me!

Margaritifera - Wikipedia

My bad, it’s margaritifera not mytilidae - it’s a freshwater mussel, the sort you get pearls from! No idea if they are called clams elsewhere. We do also have the common blue/black seawater mussels.

A large young mushroom emerges from thick moss and tiny plants. Its stipe is a bit roughly textured and is about two inches long and one inch wide. The cap, which is just as tall as the stipe but is more bell-shaped, is bright red and has small yellow-white popcorn-like patches (i.e., warts) all over it.

I love the way Amanita muscaria looks when its surrounded by green 🌱🌿🍄

I’ve no idea what the popular name for this specific shell in Canada but this is a mussel - Mytilis sp.

A pointed shard of ceramic, with a shiny peach finish, and some raised markings, resting on the opaque white base of an upturned bowl. The same shard propped up against the side of the bowl which is ridged and of a similar glossy orange finish to the shard

#SundayShard I don’t often manage to identify my #BeachPottery but I’m fairly sure this lustreware shard is a bit of mid-century “fire king” lustre made by Anchor Hocking #Beachcombing

a digital painting, showing an extremely detailed strawberry patch, though only one tiny red strawberry is seen in the bottom left corner. there are occasional pops of yellow buds of new flowers, but over the image is angular shapes of leaves in various shades of green, yellow, and blue.

Dreaming of Spring
(aka 73 hours of painting leaves in CSP. you know, for fun!)

Partial neck of a pale seafoam colour bottle with a thick “blob top” - a single blobbed lip. It rests among grey rocks and thread like brown seaweed Finger and thumb holding up the blob top bottle neck, it is very sea frosted.

#ThursdayThicc look at the chonk of a blob top on this #Seaglass bottle neck! #Beachcombing

A round plastic yellow lid from a “smarties” tube, branded with the word “rowntree” resting on a wooden surface The same lid flipped over to show a smooth back: usually these lids would have a collectable letter or number in the back.

#FridayFlip - wtf! the source of the blank #SmartieLidsOnTheBeach remains a bit of a mystery - unknown print run, factory error, some sort of knock-off product? #Beachcombing #SeaPlastic

Broken and corroded top of a pockmarked grey metal buoy with double loop top The buoy turned over to show the inside entirely laced with white worn casts

#TuesdayTreat finding a whole metal “frog” buoy is on B’s bucket list. So far this is the most we’ve found! A well wormed fragment

About 2 dozen pieces of sea worn pottery, all different shapes and sizes, with very different vintage patterns. Some are striped, some florals, some text, etc Close up of two of the smaller shards, one with the word “sons” and foliage, the other a stylised almost 60s blue flower Close up of more shards, centring on one with red kettering reading “bennett & co”

Finger and thumb holding a black sea worn vulcanite stopper against the background of a pebbly beach The vulcanite stopper tirned over to show the text on the top “dunn glasgow”

#ThursdayTipple I’m taking part in an International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day today @atticbrewco.bsky.social so this vulcanite stopper seemed appropriate- Dunn’s was mostly a soft drink manufacturer so it’s a dryanuary drink from when there were no good 0% abv beers 😅 #Beachcombing
