as much as i'd like that, you run into two major issues.

A. privacy concerns between customer and creator
B. transactions are unsafe as either party can withhold their end of the bargain

you need a distributor like bandcamp to ensure that both ends of a transaction are successful.

it sucks that any craft with any passion behind it gets ground into dust and used for content. i don't like to demean artists doing things to appeal to a greater reach, get that bag, but the artists i will detract are the ones who think of themselves as artists but do none of the creative work.

real shitty that any major form of music sharing that isn't bandcamp engages in shitty user practices. you gotta tie BC to paypal, which sucks for newbie artists because they might not have a paypal. i discourage soundcloud because it's doing similar scraping to spotify.

weird rambling: if explaining/analyzing a joke is similar to dissecting a frog, where it dies in the process but you learn more about it, what would be the equivalent for art?
