Given the response to the Sheringham Bus Shelter's imminent demolition, I'm wondering if someone can reach out to Steve Coogan, because let's face it this can only be improved by the attendance of North Norfolk's finest digital broadcaster to truly put the cherry on this icing debacle.

President of Ukraine:

The Russians started the war, and there are no alternatives to this wording. The whole world is a witness. They came with aggression to destroy us.

We stopped them. Europe helped, America helped.

This poem defies logic
There is no logic
Just pen to paper
Begin writing
Don’t stop to think
Let it go
Let it flow
Synapse to scrawl
Words from somewhere
Direct from
The unconsciousness
Automatic unfiltered
Word ectoplasm
Free write flow
Pen stops
Poem ends

Hello @victoriaspires.bsky.social
It's been a while since I contributed, this one from a free write (no editing) this morning exactly as it says here, after reading the prompt and your own poem for #PromptCombo #ThisPoem

Protean words -
Restless, flighty, astir.

Souls tempered by peculiar laws,
They riddle out peculiar lots.

Ceaseless shape-shifters wedded to
Ceaseless colour-wheel spins,

They blaze afresh where
Once they wilted.

Light hop-step-trip through
Shade-tone-nuance,

They hold within them
All that enthrals ear, eye, tongue,
And sense;

All that desires
Unending fable -

Ever longer, deeper tales
Breaking the spell of confinement.

Salt-sweet-edged change bids you

Live,
Die,
Live
Anew.

A closeup photo looking down at the top of the head of a water bird called a Western Grebe. The photo is quite dark, except for pale feathers on the bird's cheeks, and its bright orange-red eyes.

A Western Grebe my wife found huddled against an apartment building a few years ago. It was stuck because their feet are set back far on the body - better for swimming than walking - and they need a water runway to get airborne. We took it to a wildlife rehabber and it was released after a few days.

Her parents owe their lives to the United States accepting them as asylum seekers fleeing religious persecution in Iraq in the 1980s. She wouldn't be here if we had not offered her family safe haven.

The hypocrisy is stunning.

On this date in 1900, Oscar Wilde ("The difference between literature and journalism is that journalism is unreadable, and literature is not read") died at age 46. What would he make of today's stenographers posing as journalists?

Did not expect to see a Pied Flycatcher today. Latest Gwent record. Might go back tomorrow to get it on the ‘birds I have seen in the UK in December’ list. Currently attempting to piece together the ring details. Ta to Chris for finding and Matt for passing on the news. #gwentbirding #birdingWales

Tom Stoppard, Cerebral Storyteller for Stage and Screen, Dies at 88 The British playwright won acclaim for 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead,' 'The Real Thing' and 'Leopoldstadt' and received an Oscar for 'Shakespeare in Love.'

Other than Shakespeare, I'm pretty sure that Stoppard is the playwright whose work I've seen performed the most, including at least three productions of "Arcadia." Always impossibly brainy. Always adroitly funny. At his best, emotionally devastating as well. One of the best to ever do it. #RIP

I got a new pen today, a vintage (90s) Cross Classic in grey. I used it to write out a poem by Nikita Gill. I love it.

Newton’s first law of motion defines that a future will exist and what will happen there :: inertia :: it has a biological equivalent as seen in the persistence of nail growth after death.
And our brains model the future (otherwise we would hunt like spiders).
