The majority of doctors supported the recent strike. So why did the Department of Health suggest the opposite? | Peter Kellner It would seem that poll data was cherrypicked and then used to brief the Times. Such distortion of facts from a public body should alarm us all, says former president of YouGov Peter Kellner

Motability does not help you buy a car, #R4Today - it helps eligible people lease a vehicle. I pay a hefty deposit on my son’s wheelchair-adapted van, plus monthly payments from his disability benefits. Without it, he would be literally trapped in my house. Motability is essential.

Today’s story: Rachel Reeves’ own CLP will call her to abandon plans to cut disability benefits as rebellion among MPs grows.

There’s increasing anger at Starmer’s office ignoring concerns over the policy. One MP told me: “They almost see it as a virility test.” www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

"The balance here is off the scale"

The government's proposed cuts to disability benefits will deepen poverty and hardship, and push many further from work.

It’s an advent calendar. The same Christmas tree as in yesterday’s post appears on a snowy landscape with a starry backdrop. Next to the tree lie two presents, one is labelled “research”, the other “patient safety”. Overlaid are 24 empty polaroid style frames, numbered 1-24.

The Xmas season can be really hard for those dealing with ME or Long Covid so we hope this advent calendar can bring a little joy.

Tomorrow we’ll see who is behind the first door in our #ThereForME advent calendar. We'll give you a little clue later!

Who would you like to see there?

A pretend polaroid shows Dr William Weir posing for a photo holding a #ThereForME Christmas card. The design shows two presents, one labelled "patient safety", the other "research". The photo is labelled "1". This second image displays Dr Weir's handwritten message. It reads “Best wishes for Christmas to everyone with ME or Long Covid. You all deserve excellent and appropriate treatment, with a full understanding of its causes. William Weir”

Dec 1: It's Dr William Weir, who has worked with and supported patients with ME for decades.

His message: “Best wishes for Christmas to everyone with ME or Long Covid. You all deserve excellent and appropriate treatment, with a full understanding of its causes. William Weir”
