Nope, not Coal Creek. Was taken in the Columbia River Gorge, pretty sure Eagle Creek. Have never hiked Coal Creek, besides almost dying, is it a good hike? Glad that you survived. Have you been back?

City is all around the shot. the hills in the back are most all housing (the 'west hills'). downtown is just over the trees to the right of the fame and there is city behind us. This is a wet lands/wildlife refuge by the river.

It is often possible to escape the city without leaving the city limits.
