It’s not possible to independently verify the provenance of the remnants from this imagery alone. But Bellingcat previously detailed how a Tomahawk missile hit a structure next to the school.

Over the weekend, Trump told reporters that Iran was responsible for the attack on the girls' school.

This analysis makes that assertion very difficult to believe.

Video appears to show U.S. Tomahawk hit naval base near Iranian school The video is the latest indication of likely U.S. involvement in the attack on Feb. 28 that killed dozens of children in the southern Iranian city of Minab.

The Washington Posts' Visual Forensics Team also examined the video and came to the same conclusion: that the base was hit by a US Tomahawk missile.

NPR's analysis also comes to the same conclusion: that the site was attacked by the United States military with a Tomahawk.

Their analysis included comment from Jeffrey Lewis, a conflict expert, who also pointed out that the missile was unlike any Iranian weapon.
