I'm taking a listen to other stuff to really branch out btw, mainly older influences again, because I don't wanna only be known for one style

Yeah, one thing I have noticed while rebuilding my style is that I will always still have a bit of Elfman in me, that won't go away. I was experimenting more with my style (while "venting" in my music) and when I don't lean into it, I have a more "Horner and ghibli" style which I actually like

One thing that is important to note is, I'm not as experienced as others, about 5 years ish, so in a way, I am still trying to find my voice. I noticed myself doing this and I wanna just take a moment to question myself "is this truly my music voice? Is this what I really want to sound like?"

I'm not saying that the Elfman style is bad btw, i really love that style, but I have noticed my music sounding less and less like me. So currently I have (while taking huge break) been working on finding my voice, because, I'm not selling myself as Danny Elfman, I'm selling myself as me.

While it's great that I am able to sound whimsical af / like Danny Elfman, i feel like I am leaning too much into the style, resulting in my music not sounding as connected to me... Because it just sounds like I'm trying to be like Danny Elfman which is not what I want to do.

So...
I'm reinventing my music style... Why?
Because I feel like I'm not making my music anymore honestly...
