Red-crested Pochard at Amwell today @hertsbirds.bsky.social . Poor views of the Red-necked Grebe on Sheepcote. This followed Black-necked Grebe at Troy Lake, West Hyde having travelled early morning for the Richardโs Pipit on Bury Field Common, Newport Pagnell.

Went to the fracture clinic via Bramfield this morning to find half a dozen Hawfinch in the churchyard @hertsbirds.bsky.social . Shoulder has healed so finally I can get out and about. Got a lot of catching up to do.

A fractured shoulder means I am immobile and unable to bird. So Iโll finish with a Herts list of 147. Happy enough with that but sad to fall short of 200 in the UK in 2024. Only lifer was the Northern Waterthrush in Essex.

Travelling home from Nottingham and spent just over an hour, late afternoon, at Summer Leys Nature Reserve, Northants. Glossy Ibis showed a little distantly. Plenty of Great White Egret present #northantsbirds .
