Busting up big corporations and tackling Wall Street’s greed.

Getting big money out of politics.

Strengthening unions and fighting for higher wages.

Medicare for all, paid family leave, universal childcare...

This is the progressive populist agenda we need in America.

Q&A: Nutrition expert discusses pioneering program terminated by USDA Here’s a Q&A with a nutrition expert who created an after-school program for NYC middle-schoolers who take on adult responsibilities, like meal preparation. This spring, the USDA terminated it.

It's exceedingly hard to argue that the administration & MAHA are committed to improving nutrition when they're simultaneously cutting everything from SNAP-Ed to innovative community nutrition work - cements the perception that food dyes are public health theatre.

Here, Vought doesn’t dispute slow-walking release of NIH grants from congressionally appropriated funds so that they can be cancelled in a couple of months through pocket rescission, thereby bypassing congress to enact huge cuts to NIH research.

How Trans People Can Update Their Passports — And Why to Do It Now With a federal ban on passport gender marker changes currently blocked, THE CITY spoke with legal experts in NYC about how trans, nonbinary and intersex people can file these updates.

If you’re looking to update your U.S. passport to accurately reflect your gender, the window may soon be closing. For many, an accurate passport is more than just a confirmation of identity, it’s necessary to travel safely.

An Exec Order is targeting the disabled and homeless

The EO (Ending Crime and Disorder on American Streets) is criminalizing homelessness and wants to institutionalize people with mental health or those who have a substance abuse problem

The ACLU condemns this action

Who’s in the Epstein files (hint: it’s all of them) is less important than the Trump decision to criminalize and disappear anyone who does not have a house or has an addiction or “mental health” disability.

In fact, 20 years in, might these files mainly be a sensational distraction?

It remains incredibly strange that COVID killed over 1 million Americans prematurely and yet the growing consensus on both the Right and even significant portions of the center is that we overreacted.

I can't believe that's the takeaway for one of the largest mass casualty events in US history.

-A living wage
-Guaranteed healthcare
-The right to join a union
-The right to vote
-The right to choose when, how, and with whom you start a family
-The right for you and your family to live free from gun violence

These are the foundations of real freedom.

The fundamental choice has not been as stark since World War II: democracy and freedom, or dictatorship and tyranny.

Trump and his sycophants are siding with the latter. The rest of us must loudly, proudly, and boldly proclaim our allegiance to the former.

It's not hard to imagine a scenario where migrant workers in the US are detained in ICE raids, thrown into Trump's migrant camps, then are sent off to work at the same farms and orchards they were originally picked up from, with the state taking what would have been their wage.

The Trump administration deports people without due process to a foreign concentration camp where they are tortured, as it asks for millions to do it more. If democracy is to survive, the people responsible need to suffer consequences and be kept from power.
