Good one. Nvdia also has well established business lines they can work on outside of AI chips, which makes the attack quite survivable regardless how well TPUs do or ultimate size of LLM market.

Well, the other thing I'll tell you that I find very interesting is these regional presidents were supposed to be people from the district, and it was supposed to break the New York hold on the Reserve Banks. And we've got at least three, maybe four, the Reserve Banks, where people were hired from outside the district. They don't they don't even live in their district. They commute back to New York. So these are New Yorkers. They are going out into the country and then coming back on weekends. I'm not sure that's the way the Federal Reserve was designed.

Scott Bessent on CNBC this morning made sweeping criticisms of the regional Fed presidents. One scenario often discussed among analysts is that a Trump-controlled Fed board could decline to reappoint all the presidents when their terms expire at the end of February.

"There's no reason to think the economy will bottom until interest rates are substantially below neutral" is what I'm working with.

1/2 the drag should fall off in β€˜26 as tariffs are reduced or lapped. And you can’t go low enough to offset a fiscally forced employment contraction in my estimation. Rates that low should inflate non-trade economy.

Idea I’ve seen: Until SM, β€˜madness of crowds’ processing information was mitigated by β€˜the law of large numbers.’ Now that we know what everyone else is thinking, the β€˜law of large numbers’ cant find its avg expected value on information.

Monthly volatility in nominal retail sales + auto sales has stepped up this year (left) reflecting tariffs/tax credits/seasonal adj challenges, but nominal spending growth is steady y/y (right) implying a step down in real given pick up in prices & auto demand is cooling--moderate trend + volatility
