The study ues oyster morphologies from oysters recovered archaeologically to compare oyster harvesting practices between enslaved and Free black communities on the Georgia coast.
A copy of an academic/scientific poster titled "Organizing the Space and Daily Life of Enslaved Communities at Middle place Plantation on Ossabaw Island, Georgia." The study uses artifact distributions from hole excavated systematically across an enslaved communities to better understand how space was used by the members of enslaved families on the Georgia coast.

Accumulated 4k yrs ago by Indigenous people living in the earliest permanent villages in North America. Cane Patch likely served as an important place for new villages to maintain wider social networks #archaeology
