ok this is maybe too much, nidhogg's story isn't "incredible" but like, it's pretty good. its fully serviceable and therefore still stands out pretty brightly against zenoa
which wouldn't be a problem if he was a one off sort of obstacle to fight "oh what if the empire had a super strong crazy guy" that's fine, that works, But he just keeps getting crammed into the story at every possible moment for no reason
I think what makes him stand out so starkly is the main antagonist before him and the one after are both incredible. Nidhogg and Selch both have like actual motivations and personalities (especially the latter)then right in the middle you have this completely lifeless embodiment of a tired cliche
I just think the "ooh I'm so bored by everything because I'm inexplicably super powerful, my entire life's purpose is to have an entertaining fight" is such a tired trope, and there really doesn't seem to be anything else to him. His visual design is pretty good, I guess I can give him that.

i think zenos final fantasy is probably one of the worst videogame characters of all time. I was cruising through leveling again to replay the expansions but everytime his lame ass comes up i just lose all will to touch it
