They have a choice, is the point. They choose to buy that stuff. Food here is cheap, much cheaper than the UK and I was there over Christmas looking at your prices.We are not some nanny state. If you want to shop at Aldi, you can buy cheap good bread. It’s on you if you prefer the sugary stuff

Here’s the thing, you have choices. You don’t have to buy that sort of bread if you don’t want to. Regular supermarkets have commercially available good brands with limited ingredients. And the cheaper stuff if you want it. You don’t have to buy bad chocolate either. There’s better brands everywhere

There’s plenty of choices in the supermarket contrary to the propaganda you have been told. There’s cheaper options which are shelf stable and there are PLENTY of good options with limited ingredients. And those are available in regular supermarkets across the country

There you all go again. You think the whole country is the same? You really need to see what this country's food is really like. My local bakery has better bread than anything I ate in France, baked in-house.Any BBQ place in Texas has better baked beans than something out of a Heinz tin.

Just pointing out what seems normal to you may not seem normal to other people. PB&J is a beloved institution in the US. It’s the sandwich you make after school, it’s what you pack for the soccer team snack rotation. American football teams eat it at halftime

I have. Sunday night supper in boarding school. Properly seasoned or not, it’s pretty gross and yes it was Heinz baked beans. You also have no idea how good proper cheese is in the US. You’re confusing the packaged shelf stable stuff with the actual good varieties of artisanal cheese available.

Some people find the idea of combining beans in tomato sauce on top of toast gross. Other people may find mixing jam and peanut butter gross. hope this helps
