Well thanks, I'll have to look it up and find out and get back to you. I should know more about it (excuses starting) but usually the whole river bank is covered in trees. The Edmonton/Devon Alberta area has oil and Natural gas and coal so it probably is from ancient lake deposits .

This is the North Saskatchewan River by Devon Alberta on the 20 th of September. The Aspen and Birch trees are turning yellow and the occasional orange, the dogwood bushes and ground plants can show reds.
