Yeah, I don’t think they stumbled into this. If they had been truly unaware of the subtext, I think we would have at least gotten some generic “no offense was intended” statement at this point.

The good genes/jeans pun from a rando wouldn’t automatically convey “eugenics dog whistle” for me, but I can’t see professional copywriters on a national campaign not at least realizing the possibility of that interpretation. Especially given the full ad copy and “my genes/[eyes] are blue” line.

Immaculate innings are less common than no-hitters, but a lot more common than perfect games. Only about 115 total, but it gets really hard to do any type of breakdown by strike type because they didn’t reliably keep detailed pitch by pitch stats for the first few decades.
