Two legislators introduced an act to end Home Rule last Friday. If you’re unfamiliar, this would take away the rights of people living in DC to have a say in how their city is run by putting its governance in the hands of the feds.
If you have 10 minutes (and you’re in the US) please make some time to contact your congress members and tell them to oppose any legislation that would take away DC’s Home Rule!

Good Morning Yall, let’s show love to Gloria Richardson, civil rights activist who was a key leader in the Cambridge movement. That movement led to desegregation in all of Maryland in the 60’s. After this Gloria would later move to Harlem and continued to work on civil and economic development.
I still watch episodes of Girlfriends and aspire to Joan (later seasons-especially “It girl” Joan) and Toni’s aesthetic.
If anything, I see/have seen a lot of my personal and professional selves in Insecure, Run the World (definitely in Renee 😂), Harlem and Being Mary Jane.
The bar has to stop being SATC for representation (and designer/style obsessions) when we had Black women centered shoes that had/have it.
