So, thank you California! It wasn't easy to get this solution before the voters in such a timely manner; but y'all pulled it off gracefully, for the greater good of the whole nation!

This is not how any state should draw their voting districts. But until we draw all districts objectively and impartially, this may be as near to fair as our country can hope for.

While it's regrettable that they had to temporarily bypass their bipartisan California Citizens Redistricting Commission, the strictly partisan and premature gerrymander in Texas could only be sustainably balanced out by the other large state doing the equivalent.

I'm sending a big "thank you!" to California voters who, nearly 2-to-1, approved Proposition 50 to temporarily redraw their congressional districts to counteract the aggressive gerrymander by the Texas legislature in August.

Congratulations to the new mayor of New York, the governors of Virginia and New Jersey, plus all the other winners in this election, and everyone who voted for them!
