The photograph shows a sunset over the ocean at Secret Harbour in the U.S. Virgin Islands, with the sun just touching the horizon.

In the center of the image, the sun appears as a brilliant glowing sphere of intense yellow and orange light. It is positioned exactly where the ocean meets a distant dark island ridge on the horizon. Because the sun is so bright, it creates a long vertical path of golden reflection across the water, stretching from the horizon almost all the way to the bottom of the picture. The reflection shimmers across small ripples in the sea.

The ocean fills the lower half of the image, textured with gentle waves that catch pieces of orange and gold light from the setting sun.

Across the middle of the scene, a low dark island forms a horizontal silhouette. On the right side of that ridge, a thin communication tower rises slightly above the hilltop, barely visible against the glowing sky.

Above the sun, the sky is dramatic and layered with large towering clouds. The bottoms of the clouds are dark gray and purple, but their edges are illuminated by the sunset, glowing in bright orange and fiery gold where the sunlight catches them.

On the left side of the foreground, a small covered dock structure sits partly in silhouette. It looks like a small gazebo or shelter at the end of a dock. In front of it, a floating dock platform stretches horizontally across the water, also dark against the bright reflection.

The overall feeling of the scene is warm and peaceful. The sky burns with sunset colors while the sea and islands remain calm and shadowed, creating a strong contrast between the brilliant glowing sun and the quiet dark shapes of land, dock, and water.
