I love that animation! Maybe another solution would be to ditch both terms altogether and use an actual definition in relation to a quantifiable metric. Or name the countries/regions/continent directly.

I love this type of discussions, cheers 😉 In the end, it is fine to use any term. One just needs to define it. If not using physical grounds to define South, then one still has to evoke European colonialism to define South though. What makes a country part of the Global South? What is South then?
