My dad was a photographer. Still an amateur during the Korean War - he bought his good camera on leave in Japan - his images are preserved in the digital collections at the University of Wisconsin. He wisely shot slides. search.library.wisc.edu/search/digit...

One of my favorite photos of my dad. I don’t know if he was shipping out or coming home, but I love that it captures the small-town boy (7 in his graduation class) in the big city. And the photo itself is so Vivian Maier. Possibly, probably, a self-portrait; he did a lot of them as a soldier.

As one name Jane, that email truly confused me so I’m happy to have the explanation.
