My lifelong Trekkie self had a lot of issues with the Kelvin Trilogy, but still enjoyed it, and frankly, think it needed the 2009 movie after the awful Nemesis and prematurely ended Enterprise.

I like the IDW comics of the Kelvin-era a lot more than the films, with all its lore expansion.

Being a lifelong and diehard Trekkie myself, that's also my biggest worry with the franchise, way more than even Kurtzman on a bad day. I can live with episodes or even seasons I don't like (Picard seasons 1-2), but under a bunch of MAGA-adjacent ownership....*shudder*

Yeah, I pretty much second that as well. I have my issues with the Kelvin Trilogy, but overall enjoyed it, and frankly, the franchise needed the 2009 movie, especially post-Nemesis (ugh).
