I've seen a lot of people saying "it's about brand visibility" or "Fortnite collabs with everyone."

As a business owner, that's bullshit. Literally everything you publicize and take money from is a moral decision. I've walked away from ad deals because I didn't approve of the company offering them.

Japan's "Mundane Halloween" costume contest is back!

Hayao Miyazaki, who was already angry at Bush Jr's new forever war, called the Jackson Lord of the Rings movies typical hollywhite supremacist crap with white heroes vs Black and Asian minions of evil.

Miyazaki brings up Afghanistan. It was indeed how contemporary Americans viewed that new crusade.

My experience being broke and couch surfing taught me that pancakes are a super filling breakfast (and you can buy pancake mix that only needs water) and instant mash potatoes go a long way to make a small meal much bigger (butter makes them better but isn't 100% necessary).

I've been slowly watching this over the course of the year, and I liked it more than I thought!

I didn't know these 25 episodes were focused on the lead up to The Part I Knew About, so the emotional build up worked really well

I don't think it's for everyone but it's at least worth a try!

If you want to see a bunch of guys in suits bash against each other with a decent emotional beat in the background, this works!

This is a reimagining of the original show to fit into a two hour movie, and typically is framed as an in-universe adaption

While said reimagining makes a lot of changes I don't like, I appreciate the attempt and at the very least love how beautiful it looks.

In fact, you're MORE confused trying to fit this into a timeline, so turn your brain off and enjoy a bunch of robots bursting into blood-like oil. Absolutely of its time and better for it

Giant plane robots, lots of songs from the original "virtual idol", and tons of interpersonal drama between young adults makes this a wild watch. It was apparently inspired by First Gundam, and you can really feel it IMO

Even if the ending stumbles, I'm glad I got to visit this classic

This one was pretty great! I prefer when these shows focus on a long form narrative, so this one worked for me really well.

I never got used to the appearance of the suits, but other than that I don't have any real complaints. Definitely reccomend finding the time to watch this

Broke up my Mazinger Watch with this, which ended up adapting a lot of the back half of the Getter Robo Go manga

The title is a complete lie (the two robots do not fight at all), but other than that it's a very fun set of OVA episodes

This movie ended up being a dissapointment: 40 minutes of various C-list Mazinger characters getting murdered, followed by 10 minutes of MazinKaiser being sorta powerful. I don't think it's worth the time unless you wanna see Dr. Morimori bite it

I felt a lot of similarities between these five volumes, Getter Robo, and the original Kamen Rider manga, which makes sense given their authors all learned with each other

It does not end succinctly but the art makes it worth a read imo

This is exactly what I imagined all OVAs to be: various stories bundled together with a very thin through line narrative between.

Other than being a bit too horny, I think it's definitely worth a watch. Glad I decided to pick it up after Shin Mazinger dissapointed me
