I had never painted fire. This piece was very educational.

Plein Airs day 13. A view from an outlet mall on the outskirts of my city.

This one was made after a mysterious fever struck me for about a week. Could've been the flu, but it went away as succintly as it came, so idk.

Plein Airs day 12, Madero Ave. back in the capital.

I swear I'll stop glazing the city eventually! Maybe I need to go back for a bit, remember why I left.

Plein Airs day 11, a small apt. in the capital. This one's close to my house. I don't know why, those lil fenced balconies feel cozy to me. Funny, since I've never lived in a place with one.

Plein Airs day 10, a big avenue back in the capital. I visited the capital recently, and, as per usual, I got nostalgic. The capital has flaws, sure (many, many flaws) but I still can't bring myself to hate it. It has a charm to it I've not yet found anywhere else. It feels welcoming, timeless.

Plein Airs day 9, a scene post-Mardi Gras in Metairie, Louisiana. I wanted to paint, for the first time, some literal trash (as opposed to the usual, metaphorical trash)

Funny I like painting snow so much, despite the fact that the closest I've been to snow is ice cream.

Plein Airs, day 6. A statue of the Virgin Mary at a nightclub in Guadalajara. It was so surreal seeing it there. I wonder what was the motivation.

Plein Airs, days 4 and 5. One is a microwave repeating station in Monterrey, and the other is a view from the pool in my house.

Plein Airs, day 3. This here is the junction in Salamanca to the highway that leads on one side to Morelia, and in the other to Aguascalientes. I saw this while on a roadtrip with 3 friends I love very dearly. We encountered this storm later, and nearly had us pull over.

Plein Airs, day 2! I was thinking about how, as holy week approaches, some people in my country will do some pilgrimages to the Virgin Mary cathedral down in the capital, where they will ask for favour, or express gratitude for a miracle, by going up a long set of stairs entirely on their knees.

April is here, and along with some seasonal allergies, also comes the beautiful tradition of making plein airs all month! Hopefully, this year I'll manage to finally make all 30 of em!

You used to jump at people and bite their face in self defense, and you could hurl insults with the best of em. I don't think you'll need to call upon these skills here, but you can handle confrontation pretty well.
