This mousey girl hosts a minigame where you must unscramble a word. You might recognize her from the Steam trailer!
If the word is completely unfamiliar, that's okay! It shows where letters have already been. Keep trying and you'll eventually get it!

As for May...
She DOES have a house, and she DOES have a proper bed...
...but why would ANYONE want to sleep in a bed when they have an S-Tier tree stump they could sleep on instead, y'know? π
Yeah. Game dev takes time. 1.5 years for mine. Lots of that was just learning the engine...
Ahaha. There're a few reasons for the stump. π 1. Parody games which start the player in a secluded area to not overwhelm them. 2. Nice segue into humorous banter that introduces the first two characters.
This is like, one of the biggest compliments I've ever received for my art.
Thank you. π₯²
Looks like you're also going with a Game Boy-esque style! That's great! Imma follow you on my main account!
I want to see what you make! ^^
Yes, and yes, and yes!
(this is, basically, the "world" map) π
Thank you! I'm so glad you like it!! ^^

Heya! Nice seeing you here! π
21.09.2025 19:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It won't be *playable* yet unfortunately. (sorry!! π)
It's common for games to have a Steam page long before release, so anyone interested can wishlist and then be notified when it does release.
That's awesome! I'm glad she likes it! π₯°
(She probably recognizes the Game Boy style from your own games, huh? π)
Thank you Yuki for all your support as this game has taken shape! You've been there from the beginning and I'm happy to have you along!β€οΈ
Final release is still a looong time away but this is an important step. π
A title card for the upcoming game, May and the Amazing Bouquet. On the left is the game's logo. "May" is shown in large pink letters, decorated with a white daisy, a bumblebee, and a small handful of flowers, in each letter, respectively. "Amazing Bouquet" appears beneath it on light tan parchment. On the right is the game's protagonist, May. She has deep pink hair and skirt, a light pink vest, and a white long-sleeved shirt underneath. A white daisy with a yellow center is in her hair. She is looking forward and smiling. She is holding a piece of parchment with a checklist on it, and a red flower in one hand. She is wearing a long strap around her shoulder with a travelling pack attached by her waist. A lightened, slightly blurred, top-down view of a pixelated town appears behind May and the logo, showing trees, houses, water, and some characters.
The indie game I'm making ( #MayGame) now has an official name!
It's called "May and the Amazing Bouquet"! π

This is all in #Godot.
The 160x144 resolution *is* identical to the Game Boy though. Its games and hardware limitations were a major influence on this game.
A meme image divided into two vertical halves. The top half reads, "Just make it exist first." It shows two screenshots of a top-down pixel art game in extremely early development. Both screenshots show a gray checkerboard grid, one in 16:9 aspect ratio and a 10:9 aspect ratio in the other. Each one shows a pink girl character facing down, and white text that reads "The quick brown fox." A date is shown for these screenshots: July 21, 2024 The bottom half reads, "You can make it good later" and shows two screenshots in much later development. The left one shows a grassy area surrounded by trees and a green house. Two characters are speaking. The right one shows a teal wooded area with lots of tall grass. Two character are standing in the area. There is also a black hockey-puck-shaped enemy with six spheres floating around it.
These are the very first two screenshots I have of #MayGame.
Display a grid, display a sprite, display text. That's it. That's all it was.
The game has come a long way since then. ^^
(Yes it was in 16:9 aspect ratio for one day.)

Thank you! Yep, definitely Game Boy/Advance and SNES games left their mark in creating this style. π

This entire week was spent designing store assets and fine-tuning things over and over. π€―π΅βπ« Very happy with how it's coming along. But it's too early to share any of it (soon though!!), so please enjoy this short and sweet clip for now. ^^
06.09.2025 13:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In #MayGame, May has two main ways to avoid enemies: whistling (stun) and jumping. This short clip shows off both.
(She could also just, y'know, go around them. :3)
