Two more squares for the blanket. Did I post The Bane Witch yet? I worked so hard to get it right. I embroidered the Pokeweed and everything.

Holly Horror wasn't as deeply affecting as it though, so it got a standard granny square. Both good books for different reasons, but one touched my soul.

The Green Kingdom by Cornelia Funke was a charming book about an unforgettable summer in the city, where a girl who lives nature learns she can find it anywhere if she just looks in the right place (with the right people).

A beautiful love story full of gardens, bees, sweetness, grief, growth, and change, the Honey Witch by Sydney J. Shields is added to my book blanket!

I did the audiobook of this one, and then bought the physical book so I had it for reference. Wild Witchcraft by Rebecca Beyer.

Book blanket addition, a third book with themes involving Snow White and Rose Red, although this one had other fairy tales as well, like Hansel and Gretal, and Snow White (without rose red).

I finished The Wilderness of Girls by Madeline Claire Franklin. I attemped to make a crown that looked a bit like a bear trap but I don't know if it translates, especially with the "wildflower" colors I chose.

One of the librarians at my local library suggested this one. I was rolling with laughter most of the time. Blood Lite, a collection of humorous horror, added to my book blanket.

Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli adds another square to my book blanket. Back to a traditional granny square!

It was like Emily Wilde and Alexia Macon (ne Tarabotti) were combined, and still wholly unique from those series as well.

And another square is made for my book blanket! The Unfortunate Side Effects Of Heartbreak and Magic by Breanna Randall. Audiobook this time!

The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner. Another book blanket square. And, coincidentally, another book blending modern day with history, and another book about overcoming the death of a bad relationship and finding yourself on the way.

Maybe I'm too easy to please but I don't think I have read a book this year that I didn't really like.

The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods adds another square to my book blanket.

Weyward by Emilia Hart, an amazing story spanning 3 lifetimes of women who find and use their inner power to build a life after losing everything.

Call Forth a Fox by Markelle Grabo was a random choice. I liked the cover. It was one of the best books I've read in a while. Queer characters, cozy, chosen family, and sisterly bonds, it was another Snow White and Rose Red retelling. I didn't mean to have two in a row of that but I'm but mad.

Another audiobook! The Sisters of the Winter Wood by Rena Rossner, a beautifully written coming of age period piece set in a historically turbulent time and place. Inspired by a combination of the author's real familial history and fairy tales (Snow White and Rose Red specifically).

I finished reading the D'aulaires Greek Myths to my daughter, and I also finished The Restless Dead for myself. My reading goals are coming along!

I finished the third and final Emily Wilde book and I am simultaneously ecstatic to have seen this story through and devastated to have no more new adventures.

Another book read, another square made. Bow Before the Elf Queen my J.M. Kearl. I enjoyed the audiobook, but I don't know if I liked it enough to 100% commit to finishing the series.

I'm going to be getting lost in books as often as possible now, with the country burning down around me.

I finished The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw. My book blanket is one block larger and my mind was lightened for a time.

Please suggest books to me. Audiobooks and paper. Cozy preferred.

Balanced. Some internal monologuing is silly. But it gets pretty serious sometimes too. It never swings too far in either direction.

And a physical book, hidden from the library hence covering the corner. A Pirate's Life for Tea by Rebecca by Rebecca Thorne. I loved the first book in this series, and this one did not dissappoint.

Another square for my 2025 book blanket. I listened to The audiobook of A Soul to Keep by Opal Reyne. I'm not sure this is a book I would read in physical format only because it's very long and the spicy scenes are so spicy I needed to be working on knitting or something.

We had a bit of a go at JoAnns when the closing announced, and I bought some fabric for dresses. This is my newest. It has pockets. And red pandas.
