Hey, check out Poppy Baxter & The Quest's coverage of 350PDX's Action Night.
A huge thanks to @councilorkanal.bsky.social for speaking about upcoming legislation to ban tear gas.
And thanks to all the panelists!
Let's keep going until tear gas is never used again in our streets. #Portland
Between Oregon prohibiting ICE from wearing masks, the 1.25% for wildlife, and the tear gas ban at Portland's ICE facility - we are grateful for some seriously needed good news.

Join 350PDX's Forest Defense team at 9:00am, March 22, for an 1-mile walk through the mature forest on Powell Butte. We'll admire the douglas fir and native plants in this area, similar to state forest land that we can work together to protect from clear cutting.

Oregon state Democratic lawmakers approved a measure on Thursday that would prevent federal immigration officers from wearing masks. The measure is a response to the Trump administration’s nationwide deportation efforts.
AMAZING! The Oregon Senate passed the 1.25% for Wildlife bill!
Thank you to all those who worked on this legislation for years, and to all who wrote letters, called your reps, and made some noise!

It looks like the judge is going to let petitioners go forth and collect signatures for an initiative to divert 25 percent of PCEF to police hiring. Judge Eric L. Dahlin is currently making his ruling.
One of the messages I see most on social media is some variant of: “no one cares as much as you do.”
Living in Minnesota through the ICE occupation has taught me that it’s untrue. It honestly might have been disinformation the whole time.

Environmental advocates and city councilors remain skeptical, saying the investigation may have excluded critical context.
“local environmental advocates and some city councilors remained skeptical after raising concerns in the early phase of the investigation over potential conflicts of interest and what they perceived as too narrow a scope.”

"For millions of viewers, watching Bad Bunny dance atop a sparking telephone pole may have registered as merely an artistic flourish. For Puerto Rico, it was a reminder that the lights never really came back on after the longest blackout in United States history."

Oral arguments are beginning for the challenge against the initiative petition to divert 25% of Portland Clean Energy Fund income to public safety/police hiring. Challengers argue the petition, which is supported by the Portland Police Association, violates the state constitution.
And infinite thanks and appreciation for the 350PDX Arts Team. They are all volunteers - and are the apex of badassery!
Guess where our illustrious puppets are headed to next? Join us and let the bon temps roulette!

For the first time in Oregon history, the Climate Resilience Superfund has PASSED out of a policy committee, and is heading to Ways and Means! It's a huge step toward holding the biggest fossil fuel polluters accountable for the damage they've done to our state.
