Galaxy/Escapade

It's really important to know what your main character WANTS and what they NEED (not the same thing).

Your goal as a writer is to deny your characters what they want as long as possible while you give them what they need.

I write down everything I want to happen as brief scene descriptions, in no particular order. Then I re-arrange those moments so that it makes sense as a narrative. I add some connective scenes so the whole thing flows, and boom! Outline.

Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Fire, Ice, Guy Gardner, Martian Manhunter, Elongated Man.

Superman plays a large part, which was a absolute dream to write.

So many ways! GALAXY: THE PRETTIEST STAR was a rural story that took place over the entirety of Autumn. GALAXY: AS THE WORLD FALLS DOWN happens over 2 days in Metropolis. Its much more intense, with much higher stakes and some really wonderful guest stars.

I'm a big fan of words that feel needlessly archaic. Tatterdemalion, for example.

I was *so happy* to find a gathering of hawks in midair is called a "kettle."

okay hehe i was afraid inking comics with this brush would get me too bogged down in the details and take forever bc. thats kind of been the illustration experience lol but the brush can draw sooo fast and it feels good to go loose with it too i inked a whole page from thumbnails in like. an hour !!

The Post-Crisis / Byrne era of Superman comics was a period that really pushed the idea of Metropolis being a real-life big city (lots of empty fast food wrappers on the ground, etc) and nobody but nobody executed that better than Jerry Ordway. His DC universe was a place with Starros AND Sbarros
