The more people who invest in an automated basis, as opposed to the new cycles, or as opposed to their feelings, smooths out the rough spots, and probably prevents significant downturns that might have happened in the past.

"Always be buying" creates more stability overall.

@animalspirits.bsky.social appreciate you guys talking about the expansion of the American investor more deeply into the middle class.

Consistent inflows to the market, every paycheck via 401ks, and other automated investments, stabilize the market, and soften the shocks. It has an impact.

Reminder that in the United States, we send out congress people to represent us to figure out compromises to set policy & continue to operate our nation.

Just obstructing is not setting policy.

If they can't effectively negotiate policy, they can't govern. They aren't doing their job.

Or as others have noted, could be a metal blade with coating.

Ceramic blade and it is sheathed.

You can tell it's sheathed due to the holes on the side of the sheath, and the shadows the holes cast.

You can tell it's a ceramic blade because you can see the blade through the holes in the sheath.

I've been thinking about how we create the places we are (I should, it's a big part of my job). & I've been thinking about that beyond the context of companies.

We need to ask ourselves consistently & regularly:

"What is the place we're building?"

Does it match the observable outcomes we want?

For those of you that enjoy camping, hiking, and other outdoorsy type stuff, now is a good time to start looking for sales as the summer season winds down. This also includes marketplaces and thrift shops as people are clearing out their own gear.

I'm all good with examining systems, and looking to improve them to reduce the toil. But I agree with you that the outcomes that we get from what we're doing, there are valuable. The question should be how do we get the same outcomes or better outcomes while reducing the toil for people.

@downtownjoshbrown.bsky.social @michaelbatnick.bsky.social re: reporting requirements. Appreciate your takes. I get that this takes resources for companies, but isn't this something that AI should be doing to reduce the toil for companies? Isn't that one of the value propositions for AI?

We have been trained to rethink & adjust what "violence to others" means. We've also been trained to rethink & adjust what might be considered violence to others, to accept a lot more than perhaps we should.

We need to reevaluate how we think about the concept of violence & recognize it A LOT more

12.09.2025 12:27 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

It's okay to say that we don't want anyone to be killed as a result of violence & at the same time acknowledge the life they lived and the impact they had.

We can think and do both these things at the same time, and more because it's all a part of the context and complexity of the world we live in.

The results of current events are due to the policy choices we've made in the past.

If people don't like the results, then we need to do something different and the way to do that is through policy change that is designed to get us to the outcomes we DO want to see.

Given all the concerns about physical and mental maladies on display, how long before the shift happens? How long can the handlers leave him out there without doing damage to their own agenda?

With the shift to wind and solar, just make the economic argument anymore.

Anyone who continues to stand in the way of solar and window doing so because they have some combination of financial incentive, they're stuck in the past, or their vindictive against the industry.

Also proof that people have been taught to hate and fear the word "Communism" as a scare word but when something that looks like it (e.g. taking a stake in the means of production) many are silent because they just fear the word, not the actual outcome or impact.

Another example that it's not about policy or values. It's about "our guy is doing it, so it's okay"

Can you imagine any Dem even proposing something like this?

Now, can you imagine Regan or Bush trying something like this?

I'm not trying to be doom and gloom, but in a former life I was a software tester. This means that thinking about" bad scenarios" and imagining all of the" what if" scenarios is just a part of the way that I think.

I think we have to think about these scenarios as we move into the future.

@animalspirits.bsky.social if you're interested in learning more about why some people are different online, than they are in person, there's actually a lot of research out there on it. What you observed is true: some people do have different personalities online, and they interact differently.

At this point, problems like not having universal healthcare, not having better outcomes from our education system, not seeing increases in velocity for shifting to renewable energy etc are intentional.

Anyone asking "Can we afford this?" Is disingenuous. We absolutely can, but don't prioritize it.

If you think it's about policies or what is stood for anymore, you haven't been paying attention. It's far closer to sports teams / wrestlers than it is political values, positions, and policy.

Someone else doing it = bad
