Just to clarify, he's been with the sheriff's department for 32 years. He's been the leader since 2017. But that is still a stupid reason to turn down the job leading DEA. That would've been a huge upgrade.

The final House race has been called. Dems actually gained a seat in the end.

And with Trump taking two House Repubs for his admin and Gaetz not returning, Repubs are down to a 217-215 lead for the first few months. That's a one-seat majority. The Repubs are screwed. They'll eat each other alive.

Matt Gaetz withdrawing from the AG nomination is a HUGE unforced error by Trump. Trump fumbled an easy move before he even became president. He wasted political capital on this and now looks weaker after a big win just two weeks ago.

Sarah McBride, the first trans woman elected to Congress, says she'll comply with House rules restricting her from using women's bathrooms.

I think it's a smart move by McBride. You have to pick your battles.
