That reminds me. We need to do a Lorwyn story summary episode before the new one comes out.

It was fantastic and the longest non-novel story ever. As someone on a Vorthos podcast, the break between EoE and Lorwyn story is a lot of time to fill though.

Magic story is at a high point right now. We’re just not getting it quite as often though and there’s long breaks in between. It’s still three story sets next year, which has been the long term norm from when we usually had three standard sets + a core set with no story.

I’ll take a goblin pirate version of Gilligan (not really, but it’s a silly thought)

Just having things that are fantasy related makes it feel more Magic. Much of modern fantasy, including Magic, drawn from LotR so it feels like it goes together. I could see a Magic story with Gandalf.

Dwight, Sponge Bob, and friends feel jarring and out of touch with the tone of the game.

I’ve guested on three stream this week and have been having a great time on them. Managed to win three games and be competitive in the last one.

Pretty much, yeah.

It's also interesting to hear other content creators try to pin down the reason why Gandalf feels more okay than Dwight Schrute. I think we're realizing as a community that Magic's unique flavor matters, and we've taken it for granted for so long that it feels odd when it's removed from the game.
