They run them on Duke, but the only time I’ve caught one trying to head into old town on the 30 I had to get off at King St Metro and switch to a normal size bus before heading down king.

The articulated one turned back to head west on Duke

Re-upping this after riding to the boat parade today

Trolley in front of us was full leaving King St Station so couldn’t pick anyone up all down King

Our 30 was packed full of normal riders + the trolley’s rejects & turning people away by the time we hit S Washington St

R was very disappointed this afternoon when i told her the boat parade was not going to include choos choos.

Feels like that may start to shift with projects like those coming on Duke, S Pickett, Eisenhower, & (TPB/council willing) Braddock etc

Making bikes a more visibly mainstream mode of transport could both inspire new riders AND water down misconceptions that “no one bikes”

I’ve mentioned before that cycling in parts of Alx feels like you’re a bug or rodent scurrying along hidden little paths, back alleys, etc.

And this fact means a driver can fairly say they never see bikes - bc all the bikes are kept away from major driving routes!

This citys cycling grew once it shifted focus to bike infra. on major roads, not just side streets bc:
- that’s where destinations are
- that’s where danger is
- it made bikes more politically visible
