It totally kills the creativity. I tell myself "Just another day lost." I stop the clock. In reality, it may be days or weeks for the muse again. Go easy on yourself. It's supposed to be soul-satisfying. But I don't earn my living by it. I save my guilt for all the other things I can't do.

excusemyreading 3h ... + Just watched a video where a woman writer shared how her mum came over to help. Her mum did all the housework, laundry, cooking, cleaning, and childcare so she could focus. During her mum's stay, writer TRIPLED her daily word count. Then she said something that hit hard. Most men have this kind of support their entire lives. Next time you call a man productive, consider that. Damn. Still letting it sink in.

I'm a terrible speller. When writing, I love doing a voice activated Google search on my phone for the word. Easy peasy.

Writing advice I heard.

Throw away your first two manuscripts. Third time's a charm. And, if you want to improve your MS, don't edit, rewrite from scratch.

Both were fools. I've grown since then. I get it now. Maybe I'm ready. Maybe I'm still the fool. Time is my friend. Not so, patience.
