LLMs don't know things! They spit back language soup designed to look like an answer. They have NO expertise, but the more we legitimize them by asking them to weigh in on stuff, the more trust they'll amass, and then we won't be able to discern good info from bad, and then we'll be screwed. Moreso.

The same article -- in the previous few paragraphs! -- solicits the input of Tim Webster, a geomatics researcher at Nova Scotia Community College. A human expert! An authority! Then the reporter "asked ChatGPT," which is strange, or lazy, or an act of journalistic malpractice, take your pick.

A CBC News headline reads "Can you see Newfoundland from Cape Breton? Online photo sparks debate," and an excerpt from the article begins "CBC News asked ChatGPT..."

We planned the whole thing ourselves, honed some skills, learned from a few mistakes and (I can't stress enough how big this part is) used tools together. He loves it, I love that he loves it, it's great. As long as a teenager of mine is willing to spend time with me, I'll gladly take on projects.

A built-in bed made of lumber and plywood, with shelves at either end that extend to the ceiling and frame a large window. The bed features two large rolling drawers at floor level. Everything is bolted into the walls (sorry, future owners of this house). This thing is SOLID.

For 14 yrs our twin boys shared a room, then their older sister left for uni (then came back, we renovated, everyone's happy). T got his own bed in her old room, but C was on a mattress on the floor for a year. So he and I built this. It was super fun to do, and we got to hang out + use power tools.

I long ago lost faith in the Academy to get things right. Their aversion to comedy (and rats, and puppets) also screwed Rizzo out of a supporting actor nod.
