The 'bad boyfriend' meme with a man looking at a pretty woman passing by on the street, while his girlfriend looks on in disgust. The man is marked 'random guy at a conference', the pretty woman is marked 'making a comment' and the girlfriend is marked 'asking a question'.
A reminder to my colleagues attending #EuroCrim2025: **a question is a single sentence that ends with a question mark**.
When invited to ask a question in a session, that is not an invitation to give your own talk on an unrelated topic.

TLDR; including evidence of controlling behaviors in risk assessment for IPV may help with estimating risk of ongoing harm, but not necessarily its form. ๐ฎ๐ค

Including controlling behaviors (specifically, economic control) led to small improvements in prediction of recurrence overall, and for men and women aggressors. For men, adding controlling behaviors did not improve prediction of physical recurrence; no models predicted physical recurrence for women

We identified at least one form of controlling behavior in almost half of reports, and the behaviors were recorded at similar rates for aggressors who were men (n = 948) versus women (n = 210).
