I don’t have much to share about it— not really into the performing feelings thing. But I always felt so safe on that campus. This is the first time since COVID prematurely ended my time there that I’ve felt grateful to be away from it, and the dissonance of that is very strange

As someone who really loved BEAU IS AFRAID, all these polarized EDDINGTON reactions have me very excited
They just seem like the two contenders for film of the year so far for me, but it’s also a useful test for the reception of MICKEY 17, which was positive but felt a little muted. Plenty of people might say they liked it, but how many more than SINNERS?
Is there anyone else out there who prefers MICKEY 17 to SINNERS? Or am I on my own on this one?

Wrote this back in March, when I saw DREAMS (SEX LOVE) for its Italian release, and I'm glad it's finally surfaced. I felt good about it as soon as I finished, and those come along rarely enough that they shouldn't sit on the shelf. Plus, it's a really lovely movie!

I really think your response to MICKEY 17 is determined by whether you vibe with its sense of humor. If you can’t lock onto the initial tone, the way the rest are calibrated won’t feel quite right
