I visited the apartment building ICE raided on Tuesday today. Story to come, but you can walk right in. Half of the apartments have no doors on them. Children's stuff abandoned in some flats. *Citizen* residents told me they were arrested and held for hours in zipties. This is America

One reason I characterize the Trump administration's legal justification for strikes in the Caribbean as backfilling is that if the administration thought it had a plausible self-defense argument under international law, it would have submitted an Article 51 letter to the UNSC.

It did not do so.

I also recall making a similar point about women in terrorism: women's motivation tended to be classified as based on personal grievances and experiences, while men's motivation tended to be described in purely political terms.
