Yeah, no, seriously though, that's my thought when I come across unvalidated hate towards the games... like if they're purely hate and it's not valid criticism...

I sure am planning to play it one day or at least watch a gameplay of it some day, from the very small things I've seen so far, I think I might like it! My only turn offs are the romance heavy parts tbh, hence why I haven't finished or started most of the (older) games (though I should tbh...)

Very understandable, I was confused as well, but that makes me even more excited for the (hopefully) last and third part. I also love what they did with the characters, especially Cloud, just like you said!

and I do understand the criticism of some stuff but come on... I played the og and I'm so fine with what they made of the story so far...

It's okay, if they don't like a game because they don't vibe with the characters or story, but straight up calling it bad and hating on it is very extreme imo. Like e.g. the Remake series of FFVII, the devs are doing a great job so far, but a lot of people are pressed because of a few changes+

I haven't played or watched an LP of it yet, but some people just like hating on newer final fantasy games in general, and from what I gathered, it's mostly game bros. It sucks, because these games have so much potential and they ruin it just because they don't empathize with the story or whatever😮‍💨

Maybe after I have done more exploring with my WoL, I'll get deeper into this Azem stuff haha. I do ship him with Zenos already though, I'm a sucker for these dynamics god damn 😭

Oh and another reason is probably (highkey) because I'm still not used to actually making OCs out of characters I created for a game purely (or OC x Canon). Even in ffxvi, I'm a bit more invested in canon characters lol, hence why I have yet to dive deep into Azem lore. I do love Azem x Hades though
