Started on a raycast game for #lowrezjam over weekend.
Got a special rendering system working. Shelf sprites are generated on the fly in unused space, so each is unique.
Started making the basic retrieval task system, moving towards a tiny library sim.

.. but that doesn't explain why DOOM.p64@2025-01-17 also isn't found. Are you sure that cart existed in that location mid January? If you search in {Picotron App Data}/anywhen/2025-01/17.log it should show up as "/desktop/DOOM.p64"

Hey, is that with picotron 0.2.0h? 0.2.e~g were quite hungry (because of issues with background process scheduling), but if it happens on 0.2.0h there's probably something I can improve ~ a 2015 Macbook is meant to easily meet minimum specs.

The idea is: find stuff you like on the BBS, and then drag carts left into the bookmarks lists.
Some lists have special meanings; e.g. "Screensavers" becomes the list you choose from in Settings > Screensavers.

Unnecessary, fun systems.
Graphics are stored not as an array of pixel colours, but pixel indices to a "skin" graphic. Allows just this skin to be updated and all animations reflect the new colours. Also left/right asymmetry can be kept no matter flip direction! #indiedev #gamedev #picotron #pico8
#picotron 0.2.0h3 is up -- it has the same runtime version (0.2.0h) but the data file is different to patch a bug in system/lib/events.lua: keyp(k) returns true when k does not resolve to a scancode on the host's keyboard layout.

I need to do more work on networking & security before I could really recommend devs tell players to run servers on their personal machines, but it's probably already no worse than existing game servers (ha!)
