Yup, same here. Watching everyone scrape the ice of their cars when I have a day off work is a good use of a morning.

Well the fluffy onesie romper suit under my clothes worked well. Allowed me to stay out in minus 8 windchill factor on a nature photography walk. Got a couple of great shots.

Snow yesterday and today’s windchill says minus 8 degrees. Decided to go out and do some bird photography today. Thankfully I’ve found my fleece romper suit I got in the army for the minus 30 degree German winters. Please form an orderly queue for the sexy pics of me in it.

Clocks changed last night, it’s dark already. It’s been cold and raining all day. Glad I put a beef and vegetable stew in the slow cooker at 9am this morning. The house smells really good.

Found a sulphur tuft mushroom under a log yesterday in the woods. I remembered that when hit with ultraviolet light they fluoresce green. This is the before and after. I finally remembered why I carry an ultraviolet torch in my camera bag in case of such emergencies.

Mushroom photography season continues at pace. Went to our secret honeypot location for fly agaric mushrooms. Missed the best of them by about a week but some still about. A few big ones too, a couple of dinner plate size specimens.

No mushrooms from yesterday’s photo walk. But I did find some pixie cup lichen hidden in a stone wall instead. For scale this whole scene is about the size of my little finger nail and is about 100 photos stacked together each moving focus a tenth of a millimetre at a time.
