Apparently not…

Was only once outside did I realise how established it was, thankfully someone else had already called the fire brigade. I need to explain to carer that fire near houses = 999!

He told me a bit of the story, then I got him to do my washing up as he was chilled out, and only then realised I needed to understand the time line!

Let’s hope so, it was quite contained for all it was established, so fingers crossed!

Turns out I don’t normally need tenses while chatting with carers with English as a second language.
But an active bin fire 2 metres from my flat does require some idea of the present tense/urgency… 😬 (fire brigade have been and gone now, hoping it’s safe/doesn’t reignite as I can’t check)

Definitely good to prioritise the things that matter (and Eesha absolutely counts!) Hope you have some help in not having to do the knackering other daily living stuff too much x

That sounds like a good thing to do. :) I have got out of routine and am very aware it’s not good, so I’m hoping the visual accountability will help give me the motivation.

Understandable. I do think they are a great idea, especially for smaller households where ovens are too big for what’s needed most of the time.

I’m hoping that because it’s visual and public (to carers) that it gives me accountability. I also hope once I’ve got two or three days ticked that I’ll be back on track - I just need to break this cycle again.

Printing out a self-made motivational poster with daily tick boxes for me to fill in for a month if I do my self care for the day. Because apparently I’m at the “sticker chart” stage of trying to figure out how to motivate myself.

Understandable, especially when it was a cold morning it’s not acceptable to delay people like that. It’s difficult to be assertive, but definitely is justified in this situation.

Training up a new carer on how to clean my flat. We definitely have a pacing issue, he’s about 30 minutes behind schedule. And he didn’t squeeze out the mop enough, so I can’t show him things as the floors are still wet so we’ve got me describing where things are and him not getting it. 🤦‍♀️

Sorry to hear that, that’s horrible. Hope you’re warming up now. I was planning to change trains there in a few weeks, maybe I’ll rethink!

Mine won’t let me do that anymore, they used to but now they’ve taped the box down completely, with large signs which is annoying! Glad other Superdrugs are more understanding!

Other current nationwide free option is at Superdrug pharmacies. But they don’t want “bulk drop offs” so it’s not great if you don’t naturally pass by one on a regular basis.

Put maximum 30 blister packs in envelope no bigger than A4 envelope size, stick on label, post in post box. 👍

Turns out this was only a “work out what to do” visit, the actual electrical testing is being done on Friday now. He says I don’t need to clear out the hallway cupboard as they can do it for me, but hmm. Concerned too if they need to check all plug sockets. I wish things wouldn’t knacker me so much.

Having an electrical inspection this morning, don’t know quite what to expect.
Presumably once they’ve established I’ve not hot wired anything into the mains/meter/bathroom they’ll leave fairly quickly…

Have fucked my wheelchair electrics in the rain. Just rung the workshop for advice, which is to put wheelchair (or ideally just the joystick unit) somewhere warm…
