Fantastic to judge our locality 3&4 giant Christmas card competition. It has been a tough year for them, having to unexpectedly move offices and currently being housed temporarily. But they did a great job thanks to our family hubs lending them a sports hall for festive fun.

This is an absolutely fascinating read for anyone interested or advocating for CYP mental health.

Suicide consistently remains one of the top 3 killers of children and young people aged 5-18 alongside cars and cancer.

Hello 👋. I’ve come out from under my rock since Twitter turned peculiar and then became X. I hope to re-connect with people who became my friends 🧡. Please do the equivalent of a retweet to help me find people.

As someone whose self esteem is largely wrapped up in work as much as my relationships, it definitely resonated. I wish in many ways I had the skills to write some papers about other workforce things in child protection. We’re bucking the trend here. I shared your article with leadership team 😊

We really need to do something about our career development. It has never really hit the mark. I wonder if - and I don’t know - whether there’s something to take from psychology.

The family group decision making is positive but will involve quite the culture shift I think. And for those subject of CP enquiry or Plan requiring consent for EHE is a positive step forward but the statutory framework as a whole needs reform. 3

I also like the extended corporate parenting duties proposal. If multi agency safeguarding teams are to work, the statutory guidance will need to be explicit about expectations on other agencies. Got to absorb it all but I’m feeling hopeful - if the funding comes with it! 2

Of course, the devil is always in the detail but I’m liking much of what I’m reading. I’m curious about plans around homes in the community where children are subject of dol and what that will look like. 1

I remember the days when it was all so new most were anonymous, not really knowing what impact social media could have.

Thinking the same. I remember Twitter being my professional contact book. Was able to reach out to talk to anyone about their specialism. Or talk to lots of colleagues to offload, plan, think etc. This is wonderful. P.s LOVED the podcast about recording and writing to the adult a child will become
