just made a live jumbotron in unreal!
how to do it: make a renderTarget texture that uses a sceneCapture2d camera and add it to the emissive of an unlit material so it's fullbright. #gamedev #unreal

sorry, thought that was your goal (to sell it). since people don't buy html games but love to buy executables it's a good option for selling html games on steam etc. ps it works on a mac (and linux too)
for freeware, not worth the effort. simply zip it up and post as a web game on itch. best wishes

coding some really fast running movement today
had to wait until the servers weren't so overloaded, but I'm proud to announce that Quake Brutalist Jam 3 is out now!

this week I did a lot of #gamedev coding for a speedrunning game's movement! eventually I hope to implement wall running, drifting, and wingsuit gliding, all the time trying to make it "feel faster" using tricks like a speed boost that changes fov and adds speed lines to the edge of the camera

doing the classic #gamedev trick of inverted normals for a volumetric light beam effect, ie. the tube only has an inside not an outside
As I was growing up, I thought I wanted to be many things:

Turns out, I didn't have to pick! I could be ALL of it. Gamedev is every bit of my dreams and so much more. I love this career!

help! I may be addicted to game jamming
here's how I made the ring shaped sprite: started with stars and used photoshop PINCH then made the edges transparent
made a wormhole lightspeed effect in js today. =)
I photoshopped a star picture into a ring-shaped transparent sprite, then in code draw eight copies at different scales based on the current time. whole thing is 25 lines of code yay
