Both Britain and Oz operate on the basis that the monarch acts on the advice of the govt of the day with some reserve powers that are rarely used. They are pretty much a rubber stamp. Kerr in 1975 was an anomaly.

Would 100% agree with you on most occasions but I think the monarch without powers (through the GG) model is serving us quite well at the moment, compared to the clusterfuck that is the USA #Auspol

Oh yes. Many years ago when I was around 20, I moved city and found a new doctor. I told him I suspected I had a UTI (had had the same symptoms etc before). He said ‘I’m the doctor and I will tell you what you’ve got”. Of course it was a UTI. I found a new doctor after that.

Went to see it tonight. Sadly, halfway through the first Act, Colin knelt down on the ground saying he felt unwell. A paramedic was in the audience and followed the cast and crew offstage. Five minutes later they advised an ambulance had been called and the show was cancelled. I do hope he is ok.

I love Bill Nighy as well.
