Teacher: Umm.. no. They'd crashed the jobs market and made health insurance even more unaffordable, so people were afraid to protest in case they lost the coverage for their child's medication or partner's cancer treatment.

Pediatrician just says "it's non negotiable so you just force it and he'll get used to it" which is NOT helpful, not true, and not acceptable.

The American Sickness System has done a fine job of making it a bad choice to stand up for yourself and your rights. Striking without a union? Lost job and lost health insurance for your family. But when people lose jobs and health coverage anyway, desperation will be the only recourse. We will see.

Also look into dpp-iv protocols. Supplying enzymes that may be absent in the gut may help parents/people bridge the gap until a real diet change is possible (ie, cognitive/reasoning abilities, coping mechanisms, or reduction in symptoms allow real diet changes)

We have the "house on the hill" here that had about 20 trump flags flying across their front fence. They've all been replaced with American flags (but not following flag code, torn flags in the dark). It's a start.

It's frustrating, painful and scary because you have to fight yourself and literally cannot just force yourself to eat "non safe" things. I'm sorry you go through this and hope you continue to find ways to adapt.

Our son likely has it and people think it's "picky". To help my husband understand it, I said "imagine you've been watching everyone around you enjoy food while you're starving, but the smell, look and texture makes you want to throw up. Then you find 1 thing that's "safe" and it gets taken away."

This seems to assume that a mistake absolves someone of responsibility. I have made many mistakes that I have had to live up to, which did not involve cheating. You apologize for your mistakes, but more importantly, you take action to repair and improve. Cheating may not be repaired for many.

In my family we have a first generation immigrant, a person with autism, an elder that needs medicare & SS, a veteran, and a person with disabilities that technically qualify for ADA accommodation, though they're not requested.
