Bonus: I decided to make Kris 15 by the time of Deltarune. I don't know if Chapters 3&4 will give us any birthdates, so I won't speculate too much on an exact birthday. Kris, being 15, would lend them right at 9th grade & Asriel in the first semester of college with a comfy 3 to 4y age difference.
As a treat for reading so far, here's a bit of information about this interpretation of the lore:
Kris's full name is Kristoffer.
In the game, the drawer's text changes depending on the save file you're on, implying that each save is not exactly 1:1 to one another. I took the idea from that.
I've taken some creative liberties to make it more... Interesting. The account will take place in a secret, fourth save file, where things are more different than usual since a fourth save file isn't supposed to exist.
I plan to take it very seriously! I like it when parody accounts have high effort put into it. Although, I'll already warn you [guys] that it will be not 1:1.
I've made this decision for 3 reasons:
1. I want to work with the new lore chapter 3&4 will bring us.
2. I want the account to be active at least around the same time as the game. Preferably at the same time.
3. My weirdass thought it would be cool if Kris spoke German, so I gotta learn it now.

I just want to point out how fascinating it is that the human brain has a "department" for specifically identifying other beings trying to imitate humans. I'm not a scientist, but from what I see, it doesn't seem to be a matter of convenience either, but rather survival. (Uncanny Valley).
Black Mesa is not a remake or a remaster. It's a reimagining. It's a different interpretation of the game & and therefore, shouldn't be treated as a replacement or as a better alternative. It's a compliment. Like a movie adaptation of a book.
Play the original first. With the new anniversary update, it's an even better experience. It should give you a good idea of what the Half-Life franchise is REALLY about and, if possible, play the DLCs. You can play Half-Life 2 and the episodes onwards after that, but save Black Mesa for last.
