Funnily the rabbit hole I tried to go down yesterday that was flooded with AI, was a Vietnam War one.

I came across a lot of stuff that glorifies wartime activities.

I follow a costumer on insta! She is so cool, and seems really nice.
She's even made clothes for Muppets, MUPPETS!

It was a messed up thing to do during the Vietnam war, but stolen valour adds another layer of cringe.

like he's trying to introduce the concepts for more complicated future maths, but it seems some basic maths had not been covered yet?

like the kids understood the use of 1 over infinity... but there was not a practical application for them to calculate.

Grew up watching American media, I had no idea what calculus was and why it was so vexing.

I decided to watch a video of 5th grade calculus. And this vid was about how kids struggle because they didn't get the basic foundational concepts of it.

Turns out they were indeed identical twins who got put to work in tandem at the returns desk. And they regularly confuse customers by summoning their clone.

Needed to go exchange a faulty case fan, dude at the returns desk called out for help checking the fan I brought back and out from the back appeared a near identical dude with the same voice inflections and speech patterns.

It was like meeting Pumat Sol.

I'm only just playing bg3 now and was going to share some of my funny moments but now I don't want to. I'd feel like I was promoting larion. What a massive disappointment.

I guess I wonder what it's going to be like fo my kid. I can show her my old movies and shows. But is she gonna be able to talk to anyone that isn't a full on film academic about it?

Or are we stuck in a world with a 6 second memory?

There are movies I've never seen that I can recognise references for.
My coworker sent me a website that lists all the references Terry Pratchett makes in the Discworld books for people not old or English enough to understand.

This thought has also been spurred by movies like Disney's Aladdin. Genie made so many references to mid 20th century celebrities.

As a kid I knew those references from other things like looney tunes.
Simpsons also make references like that, assuming their audience is already familiar.

There's probably academics who have already weighed in, but I wonder how much of that is caused by on demand video. Not just streaming though I see that doing most of the damage. But all forms of on demand video content.
