First PB of 2026! 8:08 in 1 Star, just need another 9 seconds off this to reach my 2026 goal. Shoutout time (7:39) is going to take some serious dedication, but that level of effort at least feels tangible after this run. Short runs are fun sometimes :)

I feel as though I can end up in a top 100 leaderboard position for 120 star someday. I don’t plan to rush it, I’m not going to count my chickens before they hatch, but I don’t think the itch to grind and improve will go away until then at the earliest. 5/5 shoutouts being the other goal.

120 star is still the only run I feel long term passion for, with other SM64 main categories taking second. The other games I run capture my attention in the short term, but I always want to go back to SM64. I’m going to really lean into that passion this year, taking breaks as I have done as needed

I have a feeling I’ll want to run SHAR again, as ASM scratches a similar itch to 120 star. Marihour always lurks in the back of my mind. But this hobby of mine needs more fluidity in my mind, particularly from the perspective of feeling like I *need* to do one thing or the other.

Over the past year, I had lots of goals for myself across many games. However, I kept coming back to SM64. I want to give myself the room to move back and forth between speedruns as I feel moved to do so, with the knowledge that my brain will always steer me back to SM64.

120 Star: 1:49 (the primary goal of mine this year!)

I also had a cool year of improving my speedrunning abilities as a whole! I learned how to speedrun Earthworm Jim, MediEvil, OoT, DK64, Simpson’s Hit and Run, and SMB1 (honorable mention to Elmo’s Number Journey). I also started my journey toward completing Marihour, which I’ll continue in 2026.

Very proud of myself on the SM64 front this year. 120 star continues to be my favorite and will be the focus again this year. More to come on 2026 goals!

And the other part of this is not feeling bad for ignoring chat for a bit. They want you to do well during hard parts of the run, so it’s really the best for everyone.

I’ve been working recently to really take my focus away from chat during times in the run (like 100 coins) where I need to lock in to my routine, from stage entry to star grab) and let my muscle memory work uninterrupted. Some sections of runs are easy to just chat in, but others need more intention

Year 2 of streaming was awesome! Just reached 300 followers which means I more than doubled my audience, and had lots of game variety this year. Wouldn’t be able to keep it up if it weren’t for the awesome people who stop in and hang out each stream. Let’s keep going fast in 2026 :)

3 and a half minute 120 star PB! 1:59:13->1:55:40. Tons of costly mistakes in this one, but the fact I pulled out this kind of run in spite of that tells me I have a lot more time save in me! This feels really good, 1:49 is closer than I realized. Do your stage RTA practice folks!

Little tiny PB, 1:59:19->1:59:13, and plenty of time save to work with still. This was just a no reset to keep the 120 muscles worked out, so I am glad it ended with some success!

On Sunday I got a 5:19 SMB1 any% PB! Today is the last day I grind SMB1 for the Marihour grind; will I get the 5:15 before October ends? Come find out!

Slowly but surely getting a hang of this SMB1 run! 5:2X was the goal for the strats I started out with, and I achieved it with 5:27! Still need to push for consistent 5:1X for Marihour and I will need to upgrade strats for that. Only halfway through October so plenty of time to keep improving!

Honorable mention to the 17:12 I got an hour beforehand

16 star goal is completed! 16:41 in 16 star. This one felt ambitious to me going into the year, but as we got to SM64 league I realized it was much closer than expected. Super happy to get this done before I start Marihour prep. There’s more to achieve here but that’s for another time :)

The last thing I needed to make the all-console-runs dream come true! Plus it honestly just looks so cool.
