Majestic Mess Designs

There were about 12,000 guests and 250 booths last year, and this year is shaping up to be even bigger.

Whatever the politicians do to hurt us, we will never be silent again, and we'll never let them make us feel all alone.

I'm sure they've got a few corporate sponsors stashed somewhere around the place, but they're not being centered like at other events. Most of the vendors are craft artists. The food trucks are local restaurants.

This is about what we and our allies can do for us in our time of need.

To say nothing of the march from downtown to the event center, or the all-ages group bike ride endive at the free valet bike parking. The PeaceHealth bikes can also be parked for free.

There are free gender-affirming haircuts, an impressive kids zone, and a pet zone.

Tickets raise money for a scholarship fund, and parking fees raise money for HIV Alliance (also one of the big organizers of the Lavender Center, so it's a two for one on community support).

There's a sober circle organized by local recovery organizations to help people find community and have fun on a day where the party atmosphere can make that harder.

The clothing swap was being setup down a long side corridor to accommodate its size. Majestic Mess will be repairing clothes for free just inside the community stage hall near information. Next to the queer adult summer camp.

"The church has a long history of being instrumental in harm for queer folks, & it’s a good opportunity for them to step in & try to be participants in healing & protection," Renshaw told the Eugene Weekly.

(The Interfaith area is also easily avoidable for queer folks who don't want to engage.)

The interfaith groups are serving free pancakes, coffee, & snacks so no one goes hungry. Naphtali Renshaw is the Pride interfaith & de-escalation coordinator.

Security concerns over a Christian hate group chronically harassing Pride are 1 reason it moved from Alton Baker Park to the Event Center.

They used up every room of the huge Lane County Events Center building and spilled right out two other sides into the sunshine. The Lane County History Museum next door is staying open with an exhibit on local queer history.

After setting up the booth at Eugene Pride, I walked around really taking in the tables around me before the crowds hit, and this truely is a COMMUNITY gathering. Half the exhibition hall was just nonprofits, mutual aid groups, local government, and civic engagement groups.

From 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Creative Queer Collective will have a kickoff meeting and brainstorming session for a new local queer magazine.

They'll also be running raffle to raise money for the The Civil Liberties Defense Center.

It's gonna be a good time, so come on down!
