I'm still fumbling through stuff trying to figure out how to make a linear timeline for the art, like I did for the model. But it's loosely separated into only 4ish sections, and nothing can be ordered (within those sections) with what I currently know :(
I wish I could interview Nakano and Koizumi.

it was a piece that was specifically not OKd by Koizumi, who had designed the model and had given Nakano this specific model to start adapting into 2d. You can see Nakano discuss this in the Zelda Art Masterclass. The bust and black and white image in the top post are the first to be given the OK.

Another update to the #Zelda #OcarinaOfTime gallery. I uploaded some good art @lalam24.bsky.social has made sure we're not missing. There's still some alt color versions of Link art I need to sort though but it's still the most complete gallery for OoT if you're looking for inspiration: #Nintendo

I was double checking that some things were in the #zelda #oot gallery and I just want to thank @lalam24.bsky.social again for having such an eagle eye and helping us all out so much by making sure some of the best Link art doesn't get overlooked or lost. He found the 2nd one in a dev talk:

Yeah I.. I probably need to start looking at a bunch of different merch now. I bought the amiibo in 2016 so regardless of what box I had gotten, I wasn't archiving any of this and likely wouldn't have paid it much mind. That means there's gotta be a lot more that I missed, ugh.

it seems these were made for the Amiibo, since this was actually on some of the amiibo boxes, guess i missed it this whole time lol

they may even just be release-wave dependant, so I don't know which box I got. I did get it in 2016 though.

Some updates, my buddy Darthdub noticed some detail changes otherwise, so I made some overlays. None of these originate from full scans of prints, so all of the leg and tunic changes are deliberate. Seems pretty obvious that this piece did not exist in this state originally, even as an alternate.

Here are the artworks of #ZeldaOcarinaofTime shared this day on Nintendo today for Link. We can see an unknown variation of Link's illustration with the ocarina of time where he's drawn entirely and with open eyes (that's completely the base for OoT Link's amiibo).

Clemoya also mentioned the eyes are open. The Amiibo fully emulates this look, I wonder if this was actually done originally, or made for the amiibo? Maybe it was based on the amiibo?

my favorite area in ocarina of time is the forest temple. took some screenshots with aegiker's link viewer, using the angrylion plugin to make it more n64 accurate.

I'm scanning another old #Zelda guide from 1986 and decided to clean up this image of a green-haired Princess Zelda while waiting for each one to finish.

Someone asked me to find something they couldn't find so I made this when I promised to find it for them. lol

I like how some 1986 Wizzrobe art for #Zelda 1 has them with a bird beak instead of a nose. (The manual art shows a nose but a lot of early, officially licensed, guides have the beak-art)
